CIC and CPS students celebrating Chicago's Asian Festival

The City of Chicago featured many activities in the celebration of the Asian and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month in May. CIC and CPS students took pride in staging performances to celebrate the culture, traditions, and history of Asian Americans at the Daley Plaza on May 18.

This year’s Asian Festival was co-hosted by the local Chinese community and the Pakistani community.  CIC & CPS students in the Chinese World Language Program were invited to present a number of performances showing Chinese culture.

Students from four school, Calmeca Elementary, Hurley Elementary, Northside College Prep HS, and Skinner West Elementary, performed bamboo hat dance, martial arts, fan dance, and singing to the public during lunch hour when many people were at the Plaza.
