This workshop is to take an in-depth look at the three aspects of culture: Practice, product and perspective, and effective ways of teaching culture in language classrooms. In the workshop, a humanistic approach will be presented to teach cultural perspectives through more implicit ways of teaching, which include storytelling, drama, field trips, study abroad and etc. Dr. Tang will also discuss the ways of balancing classic culture and modern culture, high culture and pop culture, and Chinese culture and local and world culture.
