Using the forthcoming Handbook for Chinese Instructors, Dr. Liu will re-examine a number of aspects of Chinese teachers' professional development, from teachers’ knowledge structures to teachers’ communication skills, from teaching new materials to conducting drill sessions, and from teaching Chinese pronunciation to teaching Chinese characters. The focus will be on how Chinese teachers keep growing and improving through learning new knowledge in related fields and by conducting teacher’s research.
